The short answer

A basic card-tap RFID attendance reader costs a few thousand rupees. A reader that can detect cards at one to five metres, or a terminal with palm vein and face recognition, costs more. Our current list prices, all before GST, are:

DeviceHow it identifies peopleList price
Attendance One, Normal Tap & TouchRFID / NFC card tapRs 3,200 + GST
Attendance One, 1 metreRFID, meter-range detectionRs 5,500 + GST
Attendance One, 5 metreRFID, long-range detectionRs 8,500 + GST
Model I700Fingerprint, password or cardRs 3,500 + GST (Rs 4,200 with 1-year warranty)
Model I800Palm vein, face, fingerprint, PIN, door accessRs 6,400 + GST (Rs 6,800 with 1-year warranty)

Prices change, so always check the live RFID attendance machine page before you budget.

GST is extra. Every price above is before GST. Add GST to the quote when you compare vendors, or the cheaper-looking offer may not be cheaper.

What drives the price of an attendance machine

1. How people identify themselves

A card or tag tap is the cheapest method. Fingerprint adds a sensor, and palm vein or face recognition adds a more expensive sensor and more processing. Cards are fast and easy to replace, but one employee can tap in for another. Biometrics reduce that kind of misuse but cost more per device.

2. Read range

A tap-and-touch reader needs the card held at the device. A meter-range reader detects the card from a distance, which suits entrances where people walk through without stopping. The longer the range, the higher the price.

3. Connectivity and storage

Check how the device sends data: WiFi, LAN (TCP/IP), a USB disk export, or a cloud API. Also check how many records it keeps if the network goes down. Our Attendance One keeps an offline buffer of 100K records and syncs to the cloud when the connection returns.

4. Software and integrations

This is where quotes differ most. Some vendors sell cheap hardware and charge for the software separately or every month. Ask whether the software, cloud sync and exports are included, and whether the device can connect to your payroll or HR system. Attendance One syncs to the cloud through a REST API.

5. Warranty and support

A lower price often means no warranty. On our fingerprint and palm/face models the 1-year warranty adds Rs 700 for the I700 and Rs 400 for the I800 compared with the no-warranty price. Ask who repairs the device and how long it takes.

6. Quantity

Bulk orders get a lower unit price. For the I700, a 50-piece order is listed at Rs 3,250 (Rs 3,300 with warranty) + GST per piece. For other models and quantities, contact us for a quote.

Which type should you choose?

For a small office or school where staff arrive in a trickle, a card-tap reader is usually enough. For a factory gate or a busy entrance where people do not stop, a meter-range reader keeps the queue moving. If buddy punching is a real problem, choose fingerprint, palm vein or face recognition instead of cards alone.

Before you order: ask for the device price, GST, warranty, software terms, integration options and delivery time in one written quote. That is the only way to compare vendors fairly.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an RFID attendance machine cost in India?

Inurum's Attendance One RFID reader is listed from Rs 3,200 + GST for the Normal Tap & Touch version, Rs 5,500 + GST for the 1 metre version and Rs 8,500 + GST for the 5 metre version. Fingerprint and palm/face models on the same page are listed from Rs 3,500 + GST and Rs 6,400 + GST.

Is GST included in the attendance machine price?

No. The prices listed by Inurum are before GST, so add GST on top when budgeting.

Do I pay a monthly fee for attendance software?

Ask this before you buy. Some vendors charge a recurring software or cloud fee on top of the device. Always get the software, cloud sync and API terms in writing next to the hardware quote.

Is a bulk discount available?

Yes for some models. For example, the Inurum I700 fingerprint model lists a 50-piece bulk price of Rs 3,250 / Rs 3,300 + GST. For other quantities, ask on WhatsApp for a quote.
